Alana De La Garza

Role: A.D.A. Connie Rubirosa (Seasons 17-)

Alana De La Garza knew as a child that she wanted to be an actor. Born on June 18th in Columbus, Ohio, she moved to Texas at the age of nine and started in the business by way of modeling when she was thirteen.

Persuaded to enter the Miss Teen El Paso Beauty Pageant,
Alana won the title of Miss Photogenic, which was obviously beginning of the camera's continuing love affair with her.

She grew up with other beautiful qualities as well. Alana and her family took in and cared for disabled foster children. This led her to become a pre-school teacher for children with special needs. She found this very rewarding but still felt that something was missing from her life. At the University of Texas, Alana changed her major to physical therapy, and then again, to social work. Still her dream beckoned. She decided to face her truth, and go with what her true passion was all along to become an actor.

Alana relocated to Orlando, Florida. There she auditioned for and landed small roles in independent films and commercials and even a role on an episode of "Mortal Kombat Krusaders". Her work took her overseas to Cape Town, South Africa as well as other locations where she continued to
find success in both modeling and commercials. But even with all this success, her lifelong dream of acting had not yet been fulfilled.

After being seen for a major television series in New York City, Alana decided it was time to really get serious and go for it. She moved to New York, and with in six months she was finally seeing her true ambitions coming to light. She landed the very visible (but short term) role of Rosa Santos on "All My Children."

Now the doors are opening everywhere. She is currently considering various projects both in film and television. She landed a role in the independent film, "Texas Heat" and has the lead role in a major motion picture currently in development titled "Pantheon." She has also been featured in the latest top music videos, Brooks & Dunn's "Ain't Nothing Bout You" and O-Town's "All or Nothing."

Also, Alana still finds the need to take time to help others with special needs. She recently flew to Ohio to help raise money for Jerry's kids. Finally in sync with what she had always felt driven to do, Alana De La Garza is loving every second of her promising career.

George Dzundza

Role: Det. Sgt. Max Greevey (Season 1)

He is much in the mold of a Walter Slezak, yet has his own style and panache. Stout, but solid, with reddish hair, a round face and mischievous twinkle in his eyes, he seems too jolly and friendly to play a "bad guy" although surely he'd be up to the task. He is perfect for the "sidekick" category; a friend or buddy of the star, cops or detectives and also various ethnic types. He was born on July 19, 1945 in Rosenheim, Germany of Ukrainian parents. He was raised on New York City's lower east side in a working-class neighborhood. He attended college at St. Johns' University. Being a New Yorker afforded many opportunities for training as an actor and he trained under Stella Adler. He has worked on stage, in film and on television and is a born scene stealer. He appeared in "King Lear"; "That Championship Season" and "A Streetcar Named Desire" among others on stage. His film debut came in "The Happy Hooker" (1975) as Chet. His other films include: "The Deer Hunter" (1978) as John, where he stood out in a terrific cast; "Honky Tonk Freeway" (1981) as Eugene; "Streamers" (1983) with Matthew Modine, as Cokes; "Best Defense" (1984) as Loparino; "No Mercy" (1986) as Capt. Stemkowski; "No Way Out" (1987) with Kevin Costner, as Sam Hesselman, one of his best roles; "Honor Bound" (1988) as Wocjinski; "The Beast" (1988) as Daskal; "Impulse" (1990) as Det. Joe Morgan; "White Hunter, Black Heart" (1990) with Clint Eastwood, as Paul Landers; "Basic Instinct" (1992) with Sharon Stone, as Gus, another good role; "Crimson Tide" (1995) with Gene Hackman, as C.O.B; "Dangerous Minds" (1995) with Michelle Pfeiffer, as Hal Griffith; "That Darn Cat" (1997) as Capt. Boetticher; "Species II" (1998) as Col. Carter Burgess Jr.; "Instinct" (1999) as Dr. John Murray and "Above Suspicion" (2000) as Stamos. On TV he was a regular on the series: "Open All Night" (1981-82) as Gordon Feester; "Law and Order" (1990-91) as Det. Sgt. Maxwell 'Max' Greevey; the three animated series: "Superman" (1996) as Voice of Perry White; "Road Rovers" (1996) as Gustav Hovac and "Batman: Gotham Knights" (1997) as Voice of Arnold Wesker/The Ventriloquist/Scarface and most recently "Jesse" (1998-99) as John Warner, Sr. He has appeared in some excellent TV movies including: "The Defection of Simas Kudirka" (1978); "Salem's Lot" (1979); "Skokie" (1981); "The Ryan White Story" (1989) and "The Enemy Within" (1994). He has guested on such TV series as: "The Streets of San Francisco"; "Kung Fu"; "Starsky and Hutch"; "The Waltons"; "The Twilight Zone" and "Matlock." He continues to add to his fine list of credits.

Chris Noth

Role: Det. Mike Logan (Seasons 1-5)

Chris Noth was born in Madison, Wisconsin on 13 November 1954. In his youth he travelled and lived in England, Yugoslavia and Spain but never stayed in the same place for too long. His mother was formerly a CBS news reporter. Chris studied with Sanford Meisner before attending the Yale School of Drama. The first time Chris Noth was noticed was in the movie "Off Beat"in which he played a minor role as Ely Wareham Jnr (the screen brother of Meg Tilly's character). Noth played bit parts for the next 4 years such as 'Baby Boom' and the T.V. mini series "I'll take Manhattan" both 1987, until Wolf Productions offered him a feature role in the T.V. series 'Law and Order'. Noth played Det. Mike Logan from the summer of '89 to the summer of '95. Noth made this role his own and played it to the brilliance of any great actor. The character Det.Mike Logan is a young cop who is hailed as the "soul" of the series. Through the years, the character Logan was to become a very strong presence due to the talented Noth and the the great story lines in which Logan got into a number of close calls . Noth was aided by a great cast of characters which included George Dzundza (season one), Paul Sorvino (season two and three), Michael Moriarty(season one to four), Richard Brooks (season one to three), Dann Florek (season one to three), Jillian Hennessy (season four to six) and Stephen Hill (season one to present). Many characters came and went while Noth starred in 'Law and Order', but at its peak in season two and three, Noth seemed at home in his role. Chris Noth's and Paul Sorvino's intimidating appearance, (each standing at 6'4" inches tall) made them an excellent "Batman and Robin" partnership together. In 1995, Noth's contract was not renewed. This came as a shock to fans of the series as they saw the "heart" (Moriarty) forced out over T.V. violence and now the "soul". Noth continued to work in movies as well as T.V., and in 1996 he starred in the successful T.V. movie 'Abducted: a father's love' (which also starred Peter Macnicol) and in 1998 he became a regular on the smash hit series "Sex and the City".

Joan Copeland

Role: Judge Rebecca Stein

A veteran stage, television and film actress, and sister of playwright Arthur Miller, who wrote "Death of a Salesman," "The Crucible," and screenplay for Clark Gable's and Marilyn Monroe's last film, "The Misfits," and was Monroe's third husband.

With a shock of red hair, flashy jet-setting wardrobe on her bird-like frame, and a devilish personae, Copeland was the third, but best and longest-running actress to portray the pathological villainess, "Andrea Whiting (Reynolds)," on CBS's long-running soap opera, "Search for Tomorrow."

Scheming against the courtship and engagement of her ex-husband "Sam Reynolds" (Robert Mandan) & the show's lead character, "JoAnne Gardner Barron Tate" (Mary Stuart), simultaneously deceiving her son "Dr. Len Whiting" (Dino Narizzano), who kept his mother's maiden name after her divorce from his father because "Andrea" misled him into believing "Sam" responsible for the death in a fire of his twin brother, Copeland's "Andrea" was a one-woman, emotional wrecking crew!

"Andrea" also conspired to break up the courtship and engagement of her son to "JoAnne's" daughter, "Patti Tate" (Leigh Lassen, in the show's best years), a nurse at Henderson Hospital where "Jo" also worked. "Patti" had been rescued in an attempted stabbing when "Sam Reynolds" intervened to save her, taking a poisoned syringe himself and thus endearing him to "Jo" & "Patti," even though they had previously blamed him for the death of "Jo"'s third husband and "Patti"'s stepfather, "Arthur Tate," because of "Reynolds'" involving "Tate" in some stressful business affairs which they believed contributed to "Arthur"'s heart attack. "Reynolds" would forever need special medication to live, after this heroic act!

Eventually gone mad, "Andrea" plotted all kinds of vengeful acts to try to eliminate her ex-husband, "Sam," whom she blamed for trying to take "Len" away from and for abandoning her. She began by poisoning his drink in a shared cocktail hour, which she subsequently ingested and nearly died from herself, then tried running him over with her car.

Copeland played this role with a mischievous gleam in her eyes and a sinister cackle that made her wonderfully evil, internalizing the part so well that she became hated by the viewers who were rooting for "Jo" & "Sam"'s and "Len" & "Patti" 's marriage, which eventually happened--but not before Copeland had a nervous breakdown on the stand, in a courtroom scene that must surely be ranked as one of the most riveting moments in the history of daytime drama!

Eventually all was revealed as she went into total babbling lunacy and hallucination about her adulterous affair on the night "Len's" twin brother died in the fire, that she was to blame for leaving the boys home alone, and admitted to the scheming against the two engaged couples and attempted murder of "Sam Reynolds."

Copeland would surely have won a Daytime Emmy for that role, had that chapter of the television academy been handing out statuettes in the time period she played the part of "Andrea Whiting!"
